| 1) Must have at least eleven (11) years of continuous/cumulative full time university teaching or research experience, three (3) of which must have been as an Associate Professor, or Associate Research Professor |
| b) Evidence of continued effective research, effective teaching and supervision. |
| c) Evidence of academic /research leadership in the area of specialization through joint research, publications and membership of professional societies. |
| d) Evidence of leadership (administrative experience, active participation in departmental/school/ university activities as well as national and international activities). |
| ii. One (1) refereed book in candidate’s professional area published by recognized Publishers, plus two (2) articles for Professor and one (1) refereed book in candidates professional area plus four (4) articles for Research Professor OR |
| ii. Teaching and /or research and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. |
| iii. Proposal, report and research paper writing |
| iv. Design and Develop academic programmes and curricula |
| Must since last promotion to Associate Professor have supervised a minimum of five (5) post-graduate students to completion and at least two (2) at Doctoral level and |
| Publications Must have published since last promotion any of the following: i. Five (5) articles in refereed journals for Professor and seven (7) articles for Research Professor OR |
| Should have : a) Attracted research or development funds - attended or contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops |
| Skills i. Leadership and coordination at institutional, departmental, school and community level. |
| v. Two (2) review articles plus two (2)/four (4) articles in refereed journal for Professor and Research Professor respectively OR |
| vi. One (1) International Academic/Research awards plus one (1)/three (3) articles in refereed journal for Professor and Research Professor respectively |
